The fifth annual fundraising event returns as Calgarians raise money for the Children’s
Cottage Society’s new Child and Family Centre. The Monster March is a family-friendly fundraising event in support of The Children’s Cottage Society that runs from October 1 to 31, 2021. The Monster March was started by local childcare centre Wee Wild Ones to raise funds for the Children’s Cottage Society while encouraging families to spend more time together exploring the beautiful city of Calgary. Wee Wild Ones went on to form WilderFutures, a dedicated non-profit organization that hosts fundraising events, such as the Monster March.
This year, the Monster March campaign includes a month-long activity challenge,
limited-edition partnership collaborations, an in-person 3 km march, a local vendor
market and limited-edition merchandise. All proceeds go toward the children’s cottage.
Every year, the Crisis Nursery has to turn away children and families due to lack of
space. All the money raised this year will go towards building a new 35,000-square-foot
Child and Family Centre that will house an additional 20-bed crisis nursery and provide
a range of programs and services in one convenient location in Montgomery, in
Northwest Calgary. Together, with support from families across Calgary, the goal is to
raise another $50,000 for the Children’s Cottage Society.
